Visual Communications Seeks Media Artists

VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES 2009-2010 ARMED WITH A CAMERA FELLOWSHIP
FOR EMERGING MEDIA ARTISTS

LOS ANGELES – Visual Communications’ Armed with a Camera Fellowship is now
accepting applications for all people of Asian Pacific American descent
who are under 30 years of age.  $500 will be awarded to recipients as well
as access to Visual Communications’ post-production facilities, a $700 a
week value, and a one-year VC Filmmaker Membership valued at $100.

Fellows will use the $500 to complete a five-minute digital video within a
seven-month period.  Final projects must be shot in digital video format,
and completed by March 30, 2010.  A special program will showcase all
completed projects at various VC exhibitions across the city of Los
Angeles, including the 2010 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and
other venues nation-wide.  VC will co-own the productions and will also
package and distribute completed works.

Women, South Asian, and Southeast Asian filmmakers are highly encouraged
to apply to the AWC Fellowship. The 2009-2010
application deadline is July 17th 2009.

TSETSE Gallery CT is inviting artists to submit applications to be included in an art exhibit titled „Southeast Asian Art & Culture.‟ This exhibit is an exciting opportunity for individual artists to display works expressing feelings, thoughts, life views and experiences related to Southeast Asian Art and Culture. The mission of “Southeast Asian Art & Culture” is to build our community‟s understanding of CT‟s Southeast Asian People by celebrating in this artistic, cultural and educational exhibition.

Media : Visual, Photography, Poetry, Pottery, Installations, etc. In addition, music and dance performers are invited to participate during the opening Gala. Deadline: All entry request forms must be received by TSETSE Gallery CT no later than Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Responses will be sent back to applicants no later than Monday, July 6, 2009 via telephone or e-mail.

The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) seeks provocative and engaging project proposals from independent media producers. We provide funding for Asian American film and media projects through our Media Fund initiatives which are made possible with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Projects should be intended for public television broadcast. OPEN DOOR COMPLETION FUND Deadline: 8/6/09 by 5pm Pacific * For projects at post-production phase. To be eligible, a full length rough cut must be submitted with the proposal. Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop

AICPA is pleased to announce that the annual Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop will be held in Peachtree City, GA on May 28-30, 2009. We still have two slots available and are looking to have students from New York who are interested, so we can have representation from the East Coast.

Eligibility Requirements

• Junior, Senior or Graduate student for the 2009-2010 academic year who intends to pursue the CPA credential and is a declared accounting or tax major
• Maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Actively involved in campus and/or community activities
• An ethnic minority (Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; Asian)
• Have not attended a past workshop

This workshop is a great opportunity for students to enhance their leadership and communication skills, while gaining insight into the benefits of the CPA profession.
