Former UPN and FOX Executive Adam Ware Joins ImaginAsian
Adam Ware, a veteran television industry executive who has held senior level management positions with NewsCorp., Interactive Corp and Viacom, has been named president of the newly formed IA Media which includes oversight of ImaginAsian TV® (iaTV), America’s first network exclusively dedicated to Asian Pop Culture. The announcement was made today by Augustine SC Hong, chairman and CEO of ImaginAsian Entertainment, Inc.
In his new role, Mr. Ware will be responsible for the management of iaTV’s programming, production, marketing, advertising sales and distribution, in addition to ImaginAsian’s extensive group of digital media properties. Noted Mr. Hong: “Adam joining the company represents a rare opportunity to add a television industry veteran with a long and successful track record of building new TV networks to our management team. His experience with UPN, USA Networks and FOX Broadcasting Company is particularly appealing as we look to take iaTV to another level.”

Mr. Ware has been in media for more than 20 years with experience in all operating disciplines with a specific focus on new networks and the emerging digital media marketplace. Most recently, he operated a media consulting practice based in Los Angeles providing management, distribution, mergers and acquisitions, advertising sales and business planning services to companies such as Liberty Media, AOL and Comcast.
Prior to the consulting practice, Mr. Ware served as the COO for the Viacom-owned UPN (United Paramount Network) from 1998 until the fall of 2002. He was responsible for all operations of the network including affiliate relations, business affairs, digital media, finance, marketing, research and sales. During his tenure at UPN, the network achieved its best results ever in all areas including the highly successful network launches of WWF Smackdown, Star Trek Enterprise, Girlfriends and the move of Buffy the Vampire Slayer from The WB resulting in the program’s highest ratings ever.
Prior to joining UPN, Mr. Ware served as EVP, at Barry Diller’s USA Networks Inc. (Interactive Corporation), which at the time, owned and operated 12 broadcast television stations serving the top markets in the United States. At USA, he helped lead the launch of the new television venture CityVision.
Before joining USA (formerly Silver King) in June 1996, he served as senior vice president of network distribution for FOX Broadcasting Company. While at the network, he supervised all distribution including the launch of 5 additional prime time nights, FOX Kids Network, FOX News, NFL on FOX, MLB on FOX and the fx cable network. Overall, the network grew from 5 hours to an average of 40 hours a week during this period.
He began in the industry at Petry Television, a national advertising sales firm, as account executive and FOX network specialist.
